Jindal Stainless, in partnership with Oyster Renewable Energy, has taken a significant step toward industrial decarbonisation with the partial commissioning of a 315.6 MW solar-wind hybrid power project. Located in Agar-Malwa, Madhya Pradesh, the initiative underscores the growing adoption of clean energy solutions in India’s industrial sector.
The project, with a total investment exceeding ₹2,000 crore, includes ₹132 crore from Jindal Stainless. It spans Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat, with 216 MW being developed in Madhya Pradesh and an additional 99 MW in Gujarat. Commissioning is being carried out in phases, starting with the Madhya Pradesh facility, followed by the Gujarat installation. The hybrid setup combines bifacial solar modules with tracker systems and advanced wind turbines, optimising both solar and wind resources to enhance energy reliability and provide a steady supply of renewable power for industrial operations.
Abhyuday Jindal, Managing Director of Jindal Stainless, said, “Our partnership with Oyster Renewable for this hybrid project marks a major step in expanding our clean energy portfolio and reducing the carbon intensity of our operations. Large-scale renewable collaborations like this will be critical in driving industrial decarbonisation across India.”
